WHERE THEY GO
Twenty-four of them changes the room.
One tea light is a detail. Two dozen is an atmosphere — down the length of a dinner table, inside a row of glass lanterns, scattered through a mantel display, tucked into carved pumpkins where a real flame would be a genuinely bad idea. They are rated for outdoor use and light rain, so an evening on the terrace is fine; submerging them is not.
The light of a long evening, with none of the watching.
